Lecture series “VER:ACHTSAMKEIT. Geopolitics of Popular Cultures”: “Ecocritical Geopolitics”

Location: Hörsaal O2

The transdisciplinary lecture series “VER:ACHTSAMKEIT. Geopolitics of Popular Cultures” will focus, during the 2026/27 winter semester, on the relationship between popular (music) cultures and geopolitical dynamics, areas of tension and upheavals. On Tuesday 27 October, Prof. Dr. Elena dell’Agnese from the University of Milan-Bicocca in Italy will give a lecture on the topic “Ecocritical Geopolitics: Rethinking Power, Territory and More-Than-Human Worlds”. The event will take place from 4 pm in Lecture Theatre O2 and is open to all interested parties.

The lecture series will feature a variety of talks examining, amongst other things, political, social and media developments, as well as how these are addressed in popular music cultures. The series has been conceived and organised by the board of the C:POP Research Centre – Transdisciplinary Research Centre for Popular Music Cultures and Creative Economies.

Further information on the lecture series and upcoming dates can be found on the event page.
