The Turkish-German Frontiers of Research Symposia (TUGFOR) are a joint undertaking of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Stiftung Mercator and Koç University. The format is modeled after the very successful program of binational Frontiers of Research Symposia the Humboldt Foundation carries out regularly with the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, China, India, Israel, and Brazil.

This conference brings together approx. 50 outstanding young Turkish and German scholars and scientists of various disciplines (25 from each country). The conference format allows for the exchange of ideas across disciplinary as well as national boundaries and, at the same time, provides opportunities for future Turkish-German collaborations and networking.
