Prof. Dr. Len­nia Ma­tos als Gastwis­senschaftler­in zu Be­such

Die AG Bildungsmanagement und Bildungsforschung in der Weiterbildung freut sich, Frau Prof. Dr. Lennia Matos als Gastwissenschaftlerin aus Peru an der Universität Paderborn begrüßen zu dürfen. Frau Matos wird von Oktober bis November in Kooperation mit den Mitgliedern der Arbeitsgruppe von Herrn Prof. Harteis zu verschiedenen Themen des Lernens am Arbeitsplatz forschen.

In folgendem Text beschreibt Frau Matos sich selbst sowie Ihre Ziele an der UPB:

Dr. Lennia Matos is a Full Professor at the Department of Psychology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). She received her PhD from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL, Belgium). She is currently the Director of the Doctoral Program in Psychology and the Coordinator of the Research Group on Motivation and Emotion.

Throughout the years her research has focused on studying psychology of motivation using different theoretical frameworks with emphasis on Self-determination Theory (SDT). Specifically, she is interested in understanding why people do what they do and how different types of motivation can predict better outcomes (such as wellbeing, achievement, job satisfaction, among others). Moreover, she is interested in how different cultural and social contexts (as created by bosses, teachers, supervisors, parents, etc.) can support or hinder people´s motivation.

She got a scholarship from the Katholischer Akademischer Ausländer-Dienst (KAAD) to do a short research stay at the University of Paderborn with the support of Professor Dr. Christian Harteis from the Working Group of Educational Management and Research on Further Education at the Institute of Educational Sciences. The work to be done at the University of Paderborn deals with the organizational context which aims to understand the relationship between workplace learning, basic psychological needs, learning activities, and other work-related outcomes (job satisfaction, engagement, turnover intentions, and emotional exhaustion).

This is an interesting opportunity to open doors to learn from leading academics such as Prof. Dr. Christian Harteis and his team to collaborate and exchange research ideas and plan further collaboration.
