Welcome to the Chair of Industrial and Organizational Psychology!

Industrial and organizational psychology deals with the development and application of theories, methods and interventions concerning human behavior in organizations and the work place.

Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Paderborn University, with Prof. Dr. Niclas Schaper as chair holder, aims to provide concepts and insights that increase the efficiency and humanity of organizations and improve working conditions. The research at the chair is practice-oriented, application-related and interdisciplinary.
The focus is on questions of competence acquisition, competence measurement and competence management in work- and job-related learning. In addition, strategic and methodological questions of personnel and organizational development are examined.

In the course of study, fundamental and practice-related concepts of industrial and organizational psychology are taught to students from different disciplines. The courses are based on modern concepts of university didactics and are evaluated regularly.
