The two dates on 22 and 29 October 2024 of the current "VER:ACHTSAMKEIT" event both focused on populism, fake news, hate speech and their effects on politics and people.

The two C:POP board members Maryam Momen Pour Tafreshi and Jule Feldner kicked things off on 22 October 2024 with a talk on the term "click populism" coined by communication scientist André Haller. They gave a brief overview of the terms populism, politicisation, fake news and their classification and impact. Those present were interactively involved and were able to ask questions online via the Slido platform or, for example, vote on their online information behaviour. The students were also able to send in videos from social media and other content related to politics and populism in advance. Selected content was then discussed together in the session.
