Dominik Hammer (Institute for Strategic Dialogue Germany), "Political platforms - The role of digital hate speech, political and politicised misinformation in the 2024 US election campaign", impulse and talk

The two dates on 22 and 29 October 2024 of the current "VER:ACHTSAMKEIT" series of events both dealt with populism, fake news, hate speech and their effects on politics and people.

On 29 October 2020, research manager and political scientist Dominik Hammer from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) Germany followed this up with a talk on political platforms, hate speech, misinformation and conspiracy theories against the backdrop of the upcoming US elections. Among other things, interesting study results from ISD reports were presented, categorised and linked to current political debates and pop cultural phenomena such as (political) memes. In addition, the handling of misinformation in the online and offline context was discussed and how it should be countered. Afterwards, Mr Hammer was available for a Q&A session, which was very popular with those present. Thank you for this exciting presentation!
