Cul­tures of the Cryo­sphere: Two Cryo-Lec­tures in Pader­born 8 Janu­ary 2026

As part of the ERC project ‘Cultures of the Cryosphere’, the Paderborn team is pleased to announce that two keynote speeches will enrich the three-day workshop. On 8 January, keynote speakers Dr. Martin Schmitt (UPB) and Dr. Patrick Brodie (University College Dublin) will give presentations on the history of data centres in Germany and Ireland respectively.

 

From 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., you will have the opportunity to attend Dr. Martin Schmitt's lecture in the L building of the University of Paderborn (room L3.204). The title is: The Early History of Data Centres: Historical Development and Environmental Impacts.
