On 30 April, the SFB/TRR 318 "Constructing Explainability" will meet for its monthly Activity Afternoon at Paderborn University. One highlight is the lecture by Prof Dr Hannah Ruschemeier (FernUniversität in Hagen) entitled "Is there a Right to an Explanation?". In her lecture, she will take a critical look at the idea of a right to an explanation in the context of AI and data processing systems from a legal perspective and discuss the corresponding normative foundations of EU regulation (GDPR and AI Act) and their current interpretation.
