Master's degree in primary school teaching
The Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes for teacher training aim to provide a foundation in subject-specific, didactic and educational science and prepare students for a professional career. The educational science degree programme includes modules with introductory and in-depth sections on general didactic issues, the field of education, upbringing and society as well as various aspects of childhood and youth. Fundamental and exemplary in-depth study programmes lay the foundations and develop the skills that are central to the professional practice of educational and teaching activities in various professional fields. The teacher training Master's degree programmes began in the 2014/15 academic year, in which, on the one hand, skills relating to the practical preparation and implementation of teaching and learning processes (practical semester) are practised and reflected upon in depth under the respective educational and training mandate of the corresponding school types from an academic theory perspective. In addition, students will develop a differentiated understanding of research methods and findings as well as didactic theories and concepts in order to plan, analyse and critically and constructively reflect on lessons and extracurricular educational offers on a scientific basis in order to develop a differentiated, professional understanding of future requirements and to be able to help shape school development processes.
