The gender factor in research
Prejudices in AI that are reflected in the preferential treatment of certain groups of people, drugs that have different effects on men and women, disease risks that vary in their severity depending on gender: Diversity criteria play an important role in many research contexts. In order to ensure that the gender dimension is taken into account in research and development in a needs-oriented manner, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has launched the funding guideline "Geschlechteraspekte im Blick". One of the projects currently being funded is the new centre for "Gender as a category of analysis in university research and knowledge contexts" (GeFoWiss) at Paderborn University.

The Centre for Gender Studies (ZG) at Paderborn University would like to draw your attention to a free online training course "School - Gender - Simply Digital", which starts on 15 March 2024. The digital training programme is aimed at (prospective) teachers, educational professionals and anyone else who is interested. In four interactive modules on the KOMO learning platform, participants can take an in-depth look at gender-reflective pedagogy, reflect on their basic pedagogical attitude and develop practical examples for everyday working life.
The relevance of gender is increasingly becoming the focus of teacher training and the topic is also becoming more and more important in everyday teaching. The course offers answers and methods to the questions of how gender and society are related, why gender plays a role for educational professionals and how teaching units can be designed in a gender-reflective way. With the help of various media, important concepts are presented and everyday tips for pedagogical implementation are given. Participants can work on the course materials independently and organise their learning time as they wish. Successful completion of the course is confirmed with a certificate.
All interested parties are welcome to attend the course. The course can be started at any time. Participation is free of charge. You will find detailed information and the opportunity to register on the website:
