On 2 July, the 21st edition of Popkritik took place in the Paderborn pub "Sputnik" - this time under the tongue-in-cheek motto "Stupid Hits", based on a record of the same name from the 1970s. Around 30 music-loving guests came together to discuss songs that fall somewhere between silliness, nonsense and (supposed) genius.

In the summer semester, the well-known contemporary and pop historian Dr Bodo Mrozek was a guest at the UPB. The renowned journalist and presenter Vivian Perkovic (3Sat, WDR, Deutschlandfunk, RBB) was a guest in the seminar "Between amateurs and professionals: pop music journalism in society" on 3 July 2025 at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Christoph Jacke. Perkovic discussed current developments and challenges in the dynamic field of (pop) music journalism with the seminar's Master's students via video link.
