Project by Prof'in Dr Nina Göddertz "Practical support in teacher training in social pedagogy"

The project under the direction of Prof'in Dr Nina Göddertz (duration 01.04.2023-31.03.2025) focuses on the educational, learning and qualification processes in the course of study of future teachers specialising in social pedagogy as an overarching goal. Across all locations, the project focuses on the concepts and courses for the preparation/supervision/follow-up of the various school-based practical phases in the social pedagogy teacher training programme, depending on the federal state, with the aim of identifying successful teaching/learning formats and materials as well as needs for the best possible support for student teachers. Events, publications and regular meetings of the professional social pedagogy network create the space and a suitable infrastructure to promote the exchange and joint (further) development and didactic formulation of social pedagogy teacher training.

The project is sponsored by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education (StIL). Further information on the funding decision of the StIL, Focus Networks can be found here.

The overarching aim of Prof. Dr. Nina Göddertz's project (duration 01.04.2023-31.03.2025) is to focus on the educational, learning and qualification processes in the course of study of future teachers specialising in social pedagogy. The project focuses on the preparation/supervision of the various practical phases in schools depending on the federal state and therefore also on the question of successful teaching/learning formats and materials as well as needs for the best possible support for student teachers. Events, publications and regular meetings of the professional social pedagogy network create the space and a suitable infrastructure to promote the exchange and joint (further) development and didactic formulation of social pedagogy teacher training.

The project is sponsored by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education (StIL), which has been promoting innovation in teaching and learning nationwide since 2021 and will be funding 22 networks and 8 portals from 1 April 2023. These 30 projects have successfully emerged from the "Focus Networks" and "Focus Portals" calls for proposals. All submissions were initially scientifically assessed by three experts, on the basis of which the jury made its funding recommendations. The total funding volume amounts to around 9 million euros for the funding period from 2023 to 2026, with all funds being provided by the federal and state governments. The response was very positive with 120 submissions from networks and 54 from portals.
