Paderborn University offers various forms of support on a range of topics relating to academic writing and other student matters. Enclosed you will find the relevant centres and links.

  • POLARIS is intended to make it easier for students to learn and apply research methods autonomously in relation to their own research work (term paper, BA/MA thesis) by providing support in planning an empirical study. POLARIS is a structured collection of electronically available literature on the research process and serves as a self-learning resource.   • The (Paderborn University) Writing Centre offers advice on the writing process for your academic work and offers workshops, student writing advice and write-and-walk sessions, for example.
  • The Language and Spelling Office (formerly the Spelling Centre) offers workshops for students, teaching staff and employees who would like to refresh or improve their German spelling skills.
  • The Central Student Advisory Service is available for all questions relating to studying.
  • The psychosocial counselling service can be consulted in the event of private or study-related crises and concerns.
  • The ProLernen counselling centre is available to help you with motivational problems in the context of procrastination.
