From 5 to 11 October 2025, the Education Management working group took part in the 1st Sino-German Autumn School VET-Research with Doctoral Colloquium at Tongji University in Shanghai together with Dr Dagmar Festner and Prof. Dr Dietmar Heisler (Paderborn University), Prof. Dr Karl-Heinz Gerholz, Hui Tang and Philipp Schlottmann (University of Bamberg) and Prof. Dr Jürgen Strasser (University of Koblenz-Landau).
At the colloquium, Jana Schwede presented the first article of her cumulative doctoral dissertation entitled "Integrating Practice-Based Learning into Formal Education: Stakeholder Perspectives on the Challenges of Learning Location Cooperation in Germany's Dual VET System". The discussion was chaired by Prof. Dr Josef Strasser (University of Koblenz-Landau).
Stephan Drechsler presented his paper "Developing a Model of AI-Literate Researchers in Educational Science: A Document Analysis and Concept Validation", which was discussed by Prof. Dr Christian Harteis.
Also presenting at the colloquium were: Philipp Schlottmann (University of Bamberg), Hui Tang (University of Bamberg) and Mixue Li (Qinghua University).
In addition to the presentations and subsequent discussions, the focus was on scientific exchange about ongoing projects. The aim was to identify joint research priorities and develop possible future collaborations. The event also served as a symbol of German-Chinese friendship and cooperation in vocational education research.
