Welcome!

The members of the Media Systems and Media Organisation Research Group analyse media, communication, media economic processes, digitalisation, the Internet and the roles of media systems and media organisations in (information) society and the information economy. The approach of the political economy of media and communication is of particular importance. Media systems, media organisations, communication processes, media industries and the processes and dynamics of digitalisation are researched in the context of the interplay between economics, politics, culture, and society. Social theory, empirical social research and philosophy/information ethics/media ethics are combined. The interdisciplinary Gameslab Paderborn, where students develop computer games, is associated with the Department of Media Systems and Media Organisation.
