Media Systems and Media Organisation

Welcome to the pages of "Media Systems and Media Organisation"!

The Working and Research Group Media Systems and Media Organisation analyses media, communication, media economic processes, digitalisation, the Internet, and the roles of media systems and media organisations in society, the information society and the information economy. As a framework, the approach of the Political Economy of the Media and Communication is of particular importance. Research is focused on media systems, media organisations, communication processes, media industries as well as the processes and dynamics of digitalisation in the context of the interaction of the economy, politics and society. The utilised approach combines social theory, empirical social research, and philosophy/information/media ethics.

The interdisciplinary Gameslab Paderborn, where students develop computer games, is associated with Media Systems and Media Organisation.
