The Educational Management and Educational Research in Continuing Education working group once again took part in this year's 40th EARLI conference, which was held at the University of Graz, Austria, from 25 to 29 August 2025. Prof. Dr Christian Harteis, Dr Bianca Steffen and Jana Schwede, M.A. took part in the conference. Under the conference theme "Realising Potentials through Education: Shaping the Minds and Brains for the Future", central questions on individual and societal educational transformation were discussed. The importance of interdisciplinary approaches and the need for fair and accessible education were particularly emphasised. The conference offered an intensive and enriching exchange between researchers, teachers and political decision-makers, from which our working group was also able to benefit.
On Thursday 28 August, Jana Schwede gave a paper presentation entitled "Exploring Challenges in Germany's VET System: Stakeholder Insights on Learning Location Cooperation". The presentation was based on research findings from the FEWL project, which are presented in detail in the article by Jana Schwede, M. A., Prof. Dr. Christian Harteis and Prof. Dr. Dietmar Heisler "Integrating Practice-Based Learning into Formal Education: Stakeholder Perspectives on the Challenges of Learning Location Cooperation (LLC) in Germany's Dual VET System".
