The final three-day FEWL workshop(Enhancing Research on the Integration of Formal Educational Programmes and Workplace Learning) took place at the University of Tallinn from 15 to 17 September 2025. The central objectives of the funded project are to combine research on formal learning in schools, universities or training programmes with research on workplace learning. This should contribute to the development of new research methods and lead to a broader perspective through international co-operation. The workshop was aimed in particular atearly stage researchers(ESR). The workshop covered the following key topics

- Research presentations
- Research quality
- Career & networking
- Doctoral preparation & writing practice
- New technologies in research
In addition to the substantive discussions, there was also tandem work that sponsored the exchange between the participants. The event concluded with a feedback round.
Prof. Dr Christian Harteis, Dr Bianca Steffen, Stephan Drechsler, M.A. and Jana Schwede, M.A. from our working group were present. Prof. Dr Dietmar Heisler, Dr Dagmar Festner, Katharina Hartwich, M.A. and Michelle Schmökel, M. Ed. also took part from Paderborn University. Together with the project partners from the University of Tallinn(Prof. Dr. Inge Timoštšuk, Prof. Dr. Krista Loogma and Prof. Dr. Triin Roosalu) and the University of Jyväskylä(Prof. Dr. Päivi Tynjälä), the various work packages were discussed, responsibilities for the coming months were allocated and possible research foci were discussed.
