This volume explores the many intersections of religion and health through the lens of Comparative Theology. International scholars from theology, religious studies, sociology and medicine reflect on what this interconnection means for their disciplines. Contributions address themes such as shifts in religious practice during the pandemic, medical metaphors in sacred texts, and the complex role of faith in both healing and harm.
Religion and Health is a collection of the papers presented and discussed at the International Meeting on Comparative Theology (IMoC) held from June 16 to 18, 2022. The IMoC is a joint conference organized by the International Center for Comparative Theology and Social Issues (CTSI) in Bonn, the Center for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies (ZeKK) in Paderborn and the Theologische Fakultät Paderborn. It aims at connecting PhD students and young researchers working in the field of Comparative Theology all around the world.
