Our Program

Here at UPB (find us here) we see literary and cultural studies as equally relevant and interconnected fields.  Our teaching and research cover a broad spectrum: from contemporary political culture to the Early Modern period, from poetry and drama to fiction and nonfiction, from medieval texts to African American/Black British literature  to contemporary popular culture. We believe in interdisciplinary conversations. Our approaches to literature and culture are inspired by British Cultural Studies and American Studies, by cultural history, postcolonial studies, and narratology, and by gender studies, ethnography, and media/performance studies. As teachers and advisers, we're excited to work with you, whether you're aiming for a B.A. or an M.A., or if you're on the B.Ed./M.Ed. path – or if you're considering a Ph.D.
