Good reasons to join the GKW alumni network:

  • Attend our alumni events to
  • Stay on campus - at least virtually – to connect you with current PhD students and postdocs. You can help advise graduates in the Arts and Humanities on their career planning and share your own experiences.
  • You help shape the events and services of the GKW
  • You decide which events you would like to participate in; participation in the network does not entail any obligations.

How can I participate?

Either register for our KOMO course or contact Dr. Anda-Lisa Harmening and she will record your data.

In the KOMO course provided by GKW you will find portraits and contact details of alumni participating in the network. The course is linked below. The enrollment key can be obtained from Anda-Lisa Harmening. Please contact the Graduate Center KW by mail.

"Look for career paths outside academia early on."

Anna-Lena Berscheid did her doctorate in the field of sociology at the NRW Forschungskolleg. In the interview, she talks about her experiences during the doctoral phase and why she chose a career outside of academia.
