The School Pedagogy group at the Institute of Educational Science at Paderborn University, headed by Prof. Dr. Birgit Eickelmann, has been in existence since 2012. Our work and research focus is on the transformation of the school education sector. In addition to questions relating to the development of the school system, we also deal with the topics of school development and future-oriented changes in teaching and learning as well as the associated implications for teacher training.

A particular focus of our research is on the dynamics of schools and learning in the course of digitalisation and in a culture of digitality. To this end, we carry out nationally and internationally oriented research projects and cooperate in relevant specialist contexts.

The courses offered by the School Pedagogy group are broadly based in the field of teacher training and research methods and relate to school pedagogy and school theory as well as to current developments in teacher training.
