"Cultural Wallet" milestone meeting in Osnabrück: A follow-up report

First results and next steps: Last Friday, the various stakeholders in the research project "Cultural Wallet. Data ecosystems and services to strengthen loyalty and cultural participation" met for a milestone meeting at Osnabrück Theatre last Friday.

Representatives of the participating project partners from Osnabrück, Dortmund and Paderborn - including the association "Kultur für Alle Osnabrück e. V.", the Paderhalle, the IT service provider adesso SE and Paderborn University - were also present. The meeting focussed on conceptual and technological issues relating to the implementation of cultural participation and visitor mobility in the two model cities. In the inspiring atmosphere of the theatre foyer, the current status of the individual work packages was presented, developments to date were compared and joint ideas for the next project steps were discussed.

In addition to the exchange of content, the main focus was on local cultural practice. After lunch together in the theatre restaurant, Max Ciolek, Chairman of "Kultur für Alle Osnabrück e. V.", gave the participants a tour of Osnabrück's old town and the association's office, where he provided an insight into the association's day-to-day work. The agenda also included a discussion with users of the "Art and Culture Support Card" to find out their needs first-hand: How do cultural offers actually reach the people they are intended for? What hurdles exist in everyday life? And how can digitalisation help without creating new exclusions?
After the milestone meeting on Friday evening, our research assistant Yannick Dietrich was also a guest on the radio programme "KUKUKsRUF" on osradio 104.8 and shared some initial insights into the project.

The "Cultural Wallet" project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, will continue with further elaboration of the work packages in the coming months. The next milestone meeting is planned for November in Dortmund.
