The AStA Summer Festival attracts thousands of visitors every year - and this time it is also a pilot project in terms of sustainability. Accompanied by the "NachhaltigkeitsKulturOWL" research project, it marks the starting point for the implementation of sustainable measures in connection with outdoor cultural events in East Westphalia-Lippe.
As part of a project week, teachers and professors from Kennesaw (Georgia) visited the cathedral city to gain insights into local educational work and develop new exchange formats with pupils, students and teachers.
Prof. Dr Norbert Otto Eke, a researcher at Paderborn University, was elected as the new chairman of the international scientific association "Forum Vormärz Forschung" in Wuppertal at the end of April.
The "BeneluxNet" platform of the Belgium Centre (BELZ) at Paderborn University has been online since 8 April. The aim is to provide an in-depth presentation of the Benelux region as the economic, political and cultural heartland of Europe and an important partner for Germany, particularly North Rhine-Westphalia.

The regular application deadline for the summer semester 2025 at Paderborn University ends on Friday, 21 March. However, for those interested in studying at short notice, there is still the opportunity to apply for admission-free degree programmes until 15 April this semester.

Some things have been achieved, but there is still room for improvement in other areas. In the news - for example in the USA - developments are emerging that are thwarting efforts to achieve equality and undoing what has already been achieved.
Prof Dr Ruth Edith Hagengruber, Professor of Philosophy at Paderborn University, is the first woman to be elected President of the German Philosophical Association (DGPhil).
A successful cooperation between the Belgium Centre (BELZ) at Paderborn University and the Theodorianum grammar school has already existed since 2021, which is expressed above all in the joint organisation of the annual Belgium Day. This collaboration is now being expanded as part of the cooperation agreement "Benelux macht Schule".
