In the winter semester 2025/26, Paderborn University once again held a graduation ceremony for numerous graduates from the Faculties of Business Administration and Economics, Natural Sciences, Cultural Studies and the PLAZ - Professional School of Education. In addition to certificates, several prizes were also awarded for special commitment or outstanding theses.

How can lessons be organised effectively and at the same time take into account the diversity of different learning groups? An interdisciplinary team of researchers from the Universities of Cologne, Bielefeld and Paderborn is addressing this question in a new joint project.

In this year's edition of the renowned "Global Ranking of Academic Subjects" (GRAS), also known as the "Shanghai Subject Ranking", Paderborn University once again achieves very good rankings.

On Thursday, 20 November, Prof. Dr. Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University in Tashkent, visited Paderborn University and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with University President Prof. Dr. Matthias Bauer.

A strong signal for respectful cooperation

The "Deutsche Romanistikverband" (DRV / German Romance Studies Association) awards the Elise Richter Prize for outstanding doctorates and habilitations. This year, Dr. Hendrik Schlieper from the Institute for German Language and Comparative Literature received the prestigious award for his habilitation thesis.

On Sunday, 23 November, the Arp Museum will open the exhibition "Landscapes of the Soul James Ensor – Claude Monet – Léon Spilliaert". Also showcased: five museum cases from Paderborn University, which were created as part of a joint teaching project between the subject areas of art and French in collaboration with the Belgium Centre.

We are looking for projects and academic works that deal with musicological topics or the cultural subject of music.

In the winter semester 2025/26, Paderborn University is once again inviting all interested parties to various lecture series on numerous socially relevant topics. Lecturers and researchers from the five faculties as well as external experts will deal with a wide range of scientific aspects every week.
