The project "Data ecosystems and services to strengthen loyalty and cultural participation (Cultural Wallet)" was launched in January 2026 and will run until December 2028.
This BMFTR-funded project is working with non-university stakeholders from the cultural and IT sectors to research the influence of a Cultural Wallet developed in the project on customer loyalty and cultural participation. Under the project management of Prof. Dr Daniel Beverungen(SICP), Prof. Dr Lena Steinhoff and the C:POP Research Centre with Prof. Dr Beate Flath, among others, will play a key role in the project.
The aim of the project is to establish a digital data ecosystem that enables the shared use of event, ticket and visitor data and thus creates the basis for new data-driven services in the cultural sector. Against the backdrop of falling visitor numbers, rising costs and limited public funding, cross-actor loyalty and participation programmes in particular are to be developed and tested.
The prototype is being implemented in two application scenarios. In Paderborn, the focus is on promoting customer loyalty and data-based cultural management. In Osnabrück, the existing participation programme KUKUK is being digitally transformed in order to make access to cultural offerings more efficient and targeted for vulnerable groups.
An initial kick-off meeting was held on 13.02.26, which allowed for a nice exchange with the non-university project partners. Cooperation partners are the city of Paderborn and adesso business consulting AG.
