On 3 June 2025, Dr Bodo Mrozek will give a lecture on the youth music movement, which has shaped both popular culture and state music schools since the 1920s. Under the title "Between popular education and national formation: Transnational nationalism in the youth music movement (1923-1967)", Mrozek will trace breaks, continuities and influences on the reshaping of music education and shed light on its transnational interdependencies to this day. Dr Bodo Mrozek, historian and author, has been a research associate at the Berlin Centre for Cold War Studies at the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) in Berlin since February 2021 and a member of the advisory board of the "C:POP Transdisciplinary Research Center for Popular Music Cultures and Creative Economies" at UPB since 2023.
