On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, the academic symposium for the 44th Paderborn Guest Lectureship for Writers will take place in the Studiobühne at Paderborn University. From 9 am to 5 pm, academics from Basel, Bochum, Giessen, Frankfurt am Main and Paderborn will come together to discuss current issues in literary and cultural studies. The symposium marks the end of Michael Lentz's Poetics Lectureship, who is a guest lecturer at Paderborn University in the winter semester 2025/26 and will be giving lectures entitled "Loosely ordered, more deeply read. On Form as a Process", he will provide insights into his literary and artistic work in readings, lectures and a musical event.
One item on the symposium programme is the lecture by Prof. Dr. Christoph Jacke and Joshua Wick (Paderborn University/Popular Music and Media), which will take place from 16:15 to 17:00 under the title "Rätsel Punctum in der Musikproduktion am Beispiel Herbert Grönemeyer: Berührungen durch popmusikkulturelle Images" .
The academic symposium is part of the traditional "Paderborn Guest Lectureship for Writers", which was founded in 1983 by Hartmut Steinecke (†) and has taken place every winter semester since then. Since 2006, the series of events has been organised by Prof. Dr. Norbert Eke and Prof. Dr. Stefan Elit. It is aimed at a broad audience and sees itself as an offer for all those interested in literature and culture, even beyond the university.
Admission is free, registration is not required.
