As part of the event “Dimensions of Concern: Images and Narratives of Solidarity in the Post-Migrant Society” at Paderborn University, an interdisziplinär workshop will take place on Friday 3 July from 9.30 am at the International Meeting Centre (IBZ) in the Jenny-Aloni-Haus. Registrations are open until 15 June via email to Sina@tfm.uni-frankfurt.de.
The interdisziplinäre event “Dimensions of Concern” addresses highly topical issues relating to memory, solidarity and social conflicts in post-migrant society, bringing together renowned scholars from various disciplines for discussion. At the heart of this discussion-oriented workshop, featuring invited academics from film and Media Studies, literary and cultural studies, as well as history and art history, is an in-depth exchange on narrative and aesthetic practices through which solidarity and engagement are conceptualised in contemporary literature and media (comics, films, series, artistic practices, etc.) to conceptualise solidarity and empathy against the backdrop of diverse communities of memory. The workshop is explicitly aimed at both academics and students from Paderborn University and beyond.
The event is part of the DFG-funded research project “Queering Jewishness – Jewish Queerness. Discursive Stagings of Gender and ‘Jewish Difference’ in (Audio-)Visual Media” at the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt.
It is organised by Anna Maria Spener from Paderborn University, Dr Kalina Kupczyńska from the University of Łódź and Dr. Véronique Sina from Goethe University Frankfurt.
Further information about the workshop and a programme can be found on the event page.
