Stays abroad, diverse contacts, start-ups: Paderborn University has agreed an international partnership with the University of Georgia (UGA), USA. The aim is to promote student exchanges between the two universities in the areas of innovative business start-ups and entrepreneurship. Paderborn's Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is involved in the partnership.

International experience through semesters abroad and internships

From the summer semester 2025, UGA students will have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at Paderborn University and complete an internship at a start-up of garage33, the innovation centre of Paderborn University. In return, Paderborn students can take part in UGA's Student Industry Fellows Programme and gain valuable international experience.

"The cooperation opens up excellent opportunities for our students to gain international experience and further develop their skills in developing innovative business ideas and entrepreneurship," says Prof. Dr Stefan Jungblut, Representative for International Affairs at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Prof. Dr Burkhard Hehenkamp, Dean of the Faculty, also emphasises the unique combination of international research cooperation and practical, future-oriented training for students: Students benefit from the transfer of knowledge and gain valuable practical experience as well as intercultural skills that optimally prepare them for the diverse demands of the global future.

The partnership, which was co-initiated by Prof. Dr Christoph Ehland from the Department of English and American Studies at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, marks another milestone in the Faculty's internationalisation strategy.
